While 4th of July is the Independence Day celebration of USA, this date is also a holiday in the Philippines. It is the Filipino-American Friendship Day, only that it is not an official non-working holiday for us. Two of my colleagues are currently on assignment in Michigan. They had a long weekend and tricked me into believing that they went to Florida (hahah!). Well, can’t blame them. Splurging into some Orlando vacations could really be great. I wanted to go there while i was in the US then but i never had the time already. My stint in Michigan office was only for a while and i didn’t have much time for leisure. Anyway, back to July 04 thingy - the friendship day though not an official holiday is quite celebrated here. One friend told me last Friday that she’s to attend a Filipino-American Friendship party. Well, it’s the American Chamber of Commerce sponsoring it so it pretty explains why they had the party.
