denial queen

Posted on Jul 16, 2009 under blahs, my thoughts with infos | No Comment

Every time i visit the clinic at the office, i usually have my blood pressure taken and have my weight checked. More often than not, i would not believe what the weighing scale would give me. I would always ask the nurse if it’s calibrated. I would even blame the add-on weight of my shoes and clothes. Yup, i’m in denial. I couldn’t accept the fact that i’m way over my normal weight. Last Monday, i went to a private clinic. That gave me an opportunity to check my weight again using a different machine. I was happy that i weigh about two pounds less than what i would get in the clinic at work. The difference is quite negligible, so i might just as well accept the fact that i probably need the help of diet pills right now. Or probably not? I should maybe just stick to proper eating habits and do some exercise. All these whining leads to nothing because i am lazy! Tsk. I already took from the dungeons my exercise paraphernalias hoping i’d be motivated to exercise when i see them. Hmnn it’s been settling for a week now, untouched. You infer. :P

joke time

JACK (age 3) was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister. After a while he asked: ‘Mom why have you got two? Is one for chocolate and one for regular milk?’

MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn’t remember any more. Melanie said, ‘If you don’t remember you must look in the back of your panties.. Mine say five to six.’

STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom good night. ‘I love you so much that when you die I’m going to bury you outside my bedroom window.’

BRITTANY (age 4) had an ear ache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she’d have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: ‘How does it know it’s me?’

SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. ‘Please don’t give me this juice again,’ she said, ‘It makes my teeth cough.’

DJ (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: ‘How much do I cost?’

MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: ‘Why is he whispering in her mouth?’

CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried when his Mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, ‘I don’t know what’ll happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in it?’

JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read : ‘The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.’ Concerned, James asked: ‘What happened to the flea?’

TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her Mom knew.. Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, ‘Why doesn’t your skin fit your face?’

The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget….this particular Sunday sermon…’Dear Lord,’ the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face.. ‘Without you, we are but dust…’ He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, ‘Mom, what is butt dust?’

collecting gold

Posted on Jul 15, 2009 under general info, my thoughts with infos | No Comment

I learned from school that gold is a soft yellow malleable ductile (trivalent and univalent) metallic element; occurs mainly as nuggets in rocks and alluvial deposits; does not react with most chemicals but is attacked by chlorine and aqua regia. To some, it means, great wealth, especially to the collectors. Well, are you one of these collectors? Or are you into gold investing? You should try and check out the ones from monex.com as they have lots of varieties of these wealth. And if you are especially interested for gold bullion, they have not only one but three kinds. The 10-ounce gold bullion bar of at least .995 fine purity, the 32.15 troy ounce gold and the exclusive Monex-certified 10-ounce bold bullion ingot which is composed of pure .9999 fine gold bullion among the purest available to investors today. I can’t really relate that much but for those of you who has passion for this - you sure will find this very interesting.

Pink Friday 09 ~ chic scarf

Posted on Jul 11, 2009 under anything pink, pink fridays | 2 Comments

We normally have this kris kringle at the office every December. Our way of doing this KK is a bit different. We sometimes name it as Manito Manita. I really don’t know the exact difference of these two. So our style is like this: one file is stored in a common drive where everybody can access. This file lists down the names of the participants and then beside it is the column where you (the participant) could write down what you want to receive. It’s like a wish list. Only that, of course you have to consider the amount of gift you wish for.

Last December, i specifically listed something to wear for cold season. Either a scarf, cardigan, jacket. I did not specify pink as my colleagues would easily identify me the one asking for it. What do you know? I just got a pink scarf! Well, my Manito probably think pink is the safest color. Heheh!

I asked for it ’cause i was gonna wear it for my trip to Hongkong and Macau then. The picture above was taken in one of the places we visited in Macau.

Thanks to Alf for this tag.

Alf, I wish to copy the rules and the list of blogger who have joined already but i can’t. Somehow, my blog layout will be misaligned if i do so and i don’t have the time for now to figure out why. I will have to check the error some time again. :)

july 04 holiday

Posted on Jul 08, 2009 under blahs, my thoughts with infos | No Comment

While 4th of July is the Independence Day celebration of USA, this date is also a holiday in the Philippines. It is the Filipino-American Friendship Day, only that it is not an official non-working holiday for us. Two of my colleagues are currently on assignment in Michigan. They had a long weekend and tricked me into believing that they went to Florida (hahah!). Well, can’t blame them. Splurging into some Orlando vacations could really be great. I wanted to go there while i was in the US then but i never had the time already. My stint in Michigan office was only for a while and i didn’t have much time for leisure. Anyway, back to July 04 thingy - the friendship day though not an official holiday is quite celebrated here. One friend told me last Friday that she’s to attend a Filipino-American Friendship party. Well, it’s the American Chamber of Commerce sponsoring it so it pretty explains why they had the party.

Pink Fridays 08 ~ cute slippers

Posted on Jul 03, 2009 under anything pink, pink fridays | No Comment

I sure can remember my first entry for First Fridays. It’s about my getaway slipper, which without questions, comes in pink.

Here’s my other precious slippers that come in pink. You see, oftentimes, i cannot pick which is best so i’d end up buying 2-3 items of the same kind of different colors. Maybe there’s a name to this sickness? LOL!
