vacation mode

Posted on Dec 22, 2009 under blahs | No Comment

It’s the 22nd of December already and i’m still working until the 23rd. It’s much effort to get my mind to concentrate working especially when you receive auto replies from colleagues saying they’re already on vacation! I’m just envious! :P

the caller

Posted on Dec 14, 2009 under blahs, my thoughts with infos | 1 Comment

Here’s an annoying but interesting and funny conversation i had a fews ago. Early afternoon, the phone rang.

Me: Hello, good afternoon.
Caller: Hello, can i talk to Miss LC.
Me: Yep, speaking!
Caller: Ah maam, i called to let you know that you just won for yourself an insurance certificate!
Me: Whatt? How did i win? How did you get my name? And what’s that certificate all about?
Caller: A friend or colleague of yours might have endorsed your name and you are one of our random winners which will be given a certificate for an accident insurance for a year. ( I really don’t understand what she’s talking about. And i wasn’t believing the idea that i would just be getting something out of nothing)
Me: So what do i do?
Caller: Just bring 3 valid ids to claim your prize maam. Do you have a company id?
Me: Yes.
Caller: How about an atm?
Me: Yes
Caller: Does the atm have a photo of yours?
Me: No
Caller: Do you other atm account?
Me: No
Caller: Ows?
Me: *laughing to myself! And she didn’t believe that i have another atm account! huh! Maybe she could have asked further if i have some phone check account too?
Caller: Can you claim the prize tomorrow maam?
Me: No, cause i’m busy.
Caller: What about on Saturday maam?
Me: It’s our department party. And it’s a whole day affair.
Caller: Ows?
Me: *laughing. she didn’t believe me again! lol!
Caller: Maam, we have a deadline in claiming the prizes.
Me: Ok, then just forfeit my prize if i can’t claim it.
Caller: Ok, thanks for your honesty maam.
Me: And now she believed me?

I know these callers are just doing their jobs but the MO is just so tacky. Come on! Can they just really give you something that instant without getting something from you? Hmmnnn…

20] Saturday 9: Don’t Talk to Strangers

1. Tell us about a night that you spent with someone who was a stranger, yet by the end of the night you were very close.
Complete stranger? Like you just met him/her at that moment? I don’t think that ever happened to me already.

2. When is the last time you rode the bus?
Earlier. Our ride to the venue for the department Christmas party is a bus.

3. Describe the last time you stood up for a cause.
Aww i can’t remember.

4. What is something you would like to do, but you’re afraid of the risk(s)?
For now, i’m afraid to check if it’s really greener on the other side.

5. What would you most like to accomplish before the year is over?
Nothing much. Except paying all my credit cards but it’s not going to happen.

6. Name something you’ll miss about 2009.
Palawan. Sagada. Places i visited.

7. If you could invent something, what would it be?
A miracle pill.

8. What first got you started blogging?
I always like to write. I just write about anything.

9. How did you find this meme?
Through Saturday 9? hehe!

wanna go there… there and there…

Posted on Dec 06, 2009 under blahs, my thoughts with infos | No Comment

So many places, so many destinations, but no moolah! If only i have the luxury of time and money to do it, i would really like to go to differences places. To experience new cultures and to see the other side of the planet. Even before my friend told me, Turkey is already in my list of must-go-places. She said a friend of hers has been there and thinks it’s really a beautiful place to visit. I got excited when i saw this turks and caicos all inclusive deals online. As if i really could get there! Heheh! It’s all free to dream so why not take advantage! :D I wanted to visit Turkey the first time i saw it featured in one local travel show. Question now - will i ever get there? Sponsors anyone? :P

what can i buy with my 10 pesos?

Posted on Dec 06, 2009 under blahs, my thoughts with infos | No Comment

I really thought that my 10 pesos is worth nothing these days. Is there anything useful that i can actually buy with this amount of money? Luckily there are - if you go to bazaars.

Of course, they’re not of the best quality but as long as they’re functional, it’s what really matters. I was able to buy screw drivers, ladle, nail brush, etc. Each item cost only 10 pesos and i brought home a lot of goodies with my 100 pesos. Now, if only i could buy kitchen sinks for only 10 pesos then i’d be more than happy. But i guess that’s too much to ask already.

The bazaar in MEPZ1 will be around until the holidays. I’d have to go back to buy a magazine rack. The stall selling it closes very early. I’d always end up buying something else instead of the rack! Argghhh!

sunday rundown

Posted on Dec 06, 2009 under blahs, my thoughts with infos | No Comment

I’m a member of the cooperative at the office and we had this coop assembly earlier. It’s really a boring topic so i wouldn’t go into the details. I was glad i really didn’t come early. Opps heheh sorry. Later, went with my officemates to get our orders - bags, clothes. I was excited to have my new dresses! Whew another expenses! What else? Really a boring Sunday huh?

Off topic. Last night while watching Trip na Trip, i realized a lot of our people are still suffering from the havoc of the typhoons. Maybe it’s a good idea if we have mobile homes especially those who are living near bodies of water. I don’t know if it’s a sensible idea though but at least they could just move during typhoon season.

Another off topic. I think the show of Boy Abunda entitled The Bottomline is ok. It’s quite interesting and not boring. It allows us to know more about our politicians and other famous public figures.
